Our Emergency Mail email continuity service was designed to provide a backup email system that is quick and painless to implement, easy to use, and provides outbound delivery management. Our system works by creating a backup mailbox for each of your users that has the last 30 days of inbound email accessible with a rich AJAX web client. All users can send and receive mail from their Zimbra mailboxes 24/7 from any location with Internet access. This provides a natural "meeting place" for employees to regroup and collaborate after a disaster or during planned maintenance. Additionally, your email server is granted outbound smtp-relay access through our system to protect your reputation and allow us to ensure your mail is delivered to the recipients, even if your IP Address is blacklisted.

How it Works
Using our unique patent pending technology, you direct your mail flow to our continuity servers which sends a copy of each message into each user's own Emergency mailbox we provisioned for them on our Zimbra mail cluster. The original message is delivered to your mail server with no delay or impact on your normal mail flow. When your server is unavailable, we hold your copy of the message in a spool and redeliver to your server when it comes back online.
Your users can send, receive, and reply to email and continue to do their business even if your normal server is down for maintenance, under water, or in a thousand itty-bitty mail server pieces. With advanced knowledge of how to access the Emergency Mail, your users can switch over and start using this mailbox without any IT intervention at all. The benefits are that they do not need to first get in contact with an IT member before they can use it and it means that the IT staff can work on the problem at hand without expending resources to engage or train users on the backup systems.
The Emergency Mail system plays well with others. Since we receive and send messages with vanilla SMTP, our system works with any type of mail server as well as being able to be integrated into almost any type of mail flow scenario. All we require is a destination with a static IP address to deliver to and we can run continuity for your server. Since we are handling your inbound mail flow, we can also provide in the cloud anti-spam and anti-virus services, otherwise the default behavior is to pass the mail unfiltered to your network so you can continue to use your existing email hygiene solution.
Spam and Virus Protection with Outbound Blacklist Management
MxToolBox has partnered with proven providers to offer spam and virus filtering using Enterprise grade technology. Our inbound services provide perimeter security so connections containing threat messages never reach your network. You also get access to our outbound SMTP relay service. This allows your email server to send external mail to our gateway and we'll take responsibility for getting it to the destination mail server.
