DMARC Report Interval Tag (ri)

The DMARC Report Interval tag is an optional tag that can be added to a DMARC record. This tag is used to set the number of seconds elapsed between the sending of aggregate reports to the sender for DMARC feedback purposes. In other words, it defines the reporting interval between when reports should be sent. If omitted in your protocol, the default report interval value is 86,400 seconds, which equals 24 hours. The default setting is considered the shortest possible setting in which to receive DMARC reports, but these can be set to be sent larger frequency (48 hours, 72 hours, etc.).

This tag is expressed in the highlighted section of the below example:

v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; pct=25 ; rua=mailto:dmarcreports@mxtoolbox.com; ri=86400;
