The Ping tool will perform a standard round trip ICMP echo request (ping) to any host you want to check. Use this to determine if your servers are responding to ICMP echo requests. Note that many servers on the Internet do not accept echo requests as part of their security, even though the servers may be responding to other requests such as HTTP.
