DMARC Version Tag

The Version tag (v) for DMARC provides the receiving mail server (think Gmail or Yahoo! or your business inbox) the DNS record as a DMARC record and this tag must exactly match the value of DMARC1. If the value of this tag is missing or not exactly DMARC1 the record is not a DMARC record. Additionally, this tag MUST be the first tag-value in the list.

Highlighted below is an example of this, with the tag having the correct value and being placed first in the list:

v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; pct=25;

At current, DMARC1 is the only supported version type for DMARC.
