JOB DESCRIPTION:

VISUAL BASIC .NET ARCHITECT

Perform software development and technical leadership duties in Austin, Texas, for projects based on ASPX pages written in Microsoft Visual Basic. Lead software development team, and implement features described by the Product team. Guide the development team to achieve productivity goals; promote practices that minimize defects; and oversee progress to ensure consistency with initial designs as well as provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers. Determine which business goals would benefit from new technology versus extending or modifying current policies. Deliver analysis reports for technology and/or coding designs. Create patterns and documentation for chosen coding practices and technology to be used by development, testing, and support teams for writing, testing, and supporting future work. Periodic review of recently written code to ensure that best practices are being followed correctly and to assess any need to make new adaptations or adjustments. Deliver high quality code in the patterns established in the existing code base. Develop high-level product specifications with attention to performance, stability, feasibility, security, and extensibility. Work with Microsoft .NET, Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft SQL Server, Angular, DNS/SMTP/HTTP protocols, subsonic and entity framework ORMS, real-time blacklists, and Amazon Web Services to include DynamoDb, SQS, S3 and EC2. Requires: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely-related field; 3 years’ experience in Software Development or Software Engineering positions, to include: 2 years with Microsoft Visual Basic and 1 year with Microsoft .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, Angular, DNS/SMTP/HTTP protocols, subsonic and entity framework ORMS, real-time blacklists, and Amazon Web Services to include DynamoDb, SQS, S3 and EC2.
